The Slave Cemetery

A short distance away lies the resting place of many of the community's earliest settlers.

Many graves were originally marked with soapstone inscribed with names and/or dates. Time and weather have worn much of that history away, but the cemetery remains a sacred reminder of the lives and sacrifices that shaped this place.
